...AND YET ANOTHER!!

Happy day! Anna delivered her little boy on Saturday evening at about 7:50! He is a little doll, and perfect and sweet. Anna is in love - again! No name as I write this; he weighed in at 7lbs. 14 oz. He is 19 1/2 inches long, soft brown hair, and the sweetest little soul. I can't tell who he looks like yet, but he definitely looks like a boy. He is a great eater, and never cries. Who wouldn't be in love with him? Ellie is trying to adjust to her mom being surrounded by strangers at the hospital and is very protective of her. It's "MY Mommy!!" as she pushes everyone (nurses) away. Her response to the baby was "It's a BABY baby", meaning a 'little' baby. Everything little is a 'baby' whatever. She was funny and cute, but her attention is on her mommy. She needs a little time, but will love him so much. She is a darling little mother to her dollies.
I am the luckiest grandmother in the world...life is so sweet and perfect right now. I wish I could hold back time for a while....
Happy New Year! Be safe and have fun with your little families everyone. I love you all! Mom/Carolyn

Another Perfect and Beautiful Addition!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JAKE AND KATIE! At this point, there is no name, but she is a precious little doll - looks like Cece in miniature. What a package! What a lucky little girl to come into that family! Cece will be in heaven with a little sister to imitate her! Can't you just picture Cece teaching her songs, making her laugh (or cry..) mothering her? Clayson thinks shes really little, and loves her already. She is going to adore him. Just for the record, she makes number 10 for us! Each one of our grandkids is so precious, so unique, very funny and clever, and darling to look at. They have so much fun together - it is just as I imagined a large family would be and I love it. We wish each one a healthy and most happy of new years. After the season, we want to get on a regular monthly or bi-monthly dinner and gospel lesson rotation at our house. Which sunday did we decide was best?

Love you, Mom

What a difference a day makes!

I'm feeling pretty darn good this evening because I just returned from an awards banquet at which  I  received my official Master Gardener certificate, AND I won the "Silver Trowel" award for my volunteer work this summer.  AND, more important, I trounced Nate in the pumpkin-growing contest earlier in the fall.  Yeah!!

Love you all... Em
I'll have you all know that Dad is "so" computer savy. I got on here all by myself!! Thanks to Liz for setting this up. I'll look to read all your innermost feelings about your families and your Awesome chidhoods. Love you all . Dad

Not much to say? Impossible...

Okay, crazy...but I can already tell that I will check the blog often to see what's up with everyone, but I don't feel like I have much to say. SHOCKING, I know! I'm just not quite as clever as y'all.

Sibling kindness

Here's a funny picture of Will giving Annie some love.

If you didn't know, Will got his tonsils out yesterday. It went very well, and he felt great by the time we got him home. Coming out of anesthesia was a nightmare! Poor guy.

Whoa Buds!

I am liking what I am seeing. Love the posts!

Em, if it makes you feel any better...I think all of us feel like we "should" do more. Even I feel that way, and I don't have children yet. Don't get too hard on yourself.

Nate, about the pictures. I think that idea is wonderful! Lets do it. Another thought is "Flashback Friday", where you post a funny picture or a funny story that happened in the past....such as a funny story that happened on a family trip, or a picture of Anna lip-synching with giant earphones on. (If any of you haven't seen that picture - it is a keeper.)

Mom, I think you are the coolest mom in the world. I love that you are a "blogger".

The Real Life of Emily

Hello--

This blog idea might be trouble, as I expose my thoughts a little more than you are used to hearing!  Right now I'm having a self-imposed mommy time out.  Here's what's on my mind...
I'm going crazy and I'm going to throw something if I have to try to decipher one more 2-year old demand, clean up one more juice or chocolate milk mess, make one more meal, change one more poopy diaper, hear one more whine, rescue one more child, help one more person, or have one more demand placed upon me.  All I really want to do is create something beautiful, but here is the list of demands and tasks that I SHOULD do (on top of the small item of caring for my children):

do my visiting teaching
prepare my Gospel Doctrine lesson
do the laundry
clean the kitchen
be fit
be a member missionary
go to the temple
read my scriptures
write in my journal
help kids with homework
be an attentive wife
plan and prepare healthy meals for the family
get kids to lessons
get the grocery shopping done
serve others
volunteer at the school
organize my paperwork
pay bills
get a calendar done for the family blog
be merry and bright
Oh... and do Christmas shopping

I'm certain that I've left a few items off the list, but you get the idea.  I finally understand why Mom believes that "should" is a swear word.

Well Shat

Sweet buds! I think this will be awesome. I'm going to try posting lots of cool stuff here.

One thing I think would be fun is to do a photo contest or something. I've never done anything like this, but what if we had a contest where everyone has to take a funny picture and post it to this blog. What do you think?

I also would like to post a running total of the score of my racquetball games with Anton. How do you spell FUTILE??
